Aloha. My name is Matthew Terrusa and I am very grateful to be of humble service to the healthcare needs of the people of the Big Island. I am a graduate of the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawaii. I received my Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in August 2006. I am also a Certified Seitai Shinpo Acupuncturist. I studied Seitai Shinpo under Dr. Chieko Maekawa in a four-year, apprenticeship style training in her clinic in Kailua-Kona. Dr. Maekawa studied under Daiichi Sorimachi Sensei who is the founder of Seitai Shinpo. Sorimachi Sensei is one of the best acupuncturists in Japan and he has only trained four people. My training with Dr. Maekawa was in a very strict traditional Japanese protocol and I am one of the only 13 Certified Seitai Shinpo Acupuncturists in the world. I feel very honored and grateful to apprentice under Dr. Maekawa for four years, and to have the opportunity learn from the master himself, Daiichi Sorimachi Sensei. It is such a great honor to get to study under Sorimachi Sensei, to observe his mastery at reading the human body, and to witness him healing patient’s right before your eyes.
I specialize in this unique Japanese style of Acupuncture called Seitai Shinpo. Seitai Shinpo combines Acupuncture and Moxibustion techniques to help bring the body back into balance. Seitai Shinpo can be translated as “correct body alignment acupuncture method,” and is the only form of Acupuncture that directly addresses structural misalignments and musculoskeletal contractions and stressors that are causing our bodies to get out of balance. When our body structure is in a state of balance, our minds will be clearer, and our spirit will be more in alignment with our source. When we are joined with our source our eyes will be illuminated with our true essence, which will radiate from the depths of our being.
Seitai Shinpo is very effective in treating Back, Neck and Shoulder Pain, Arthritis, Sports Injuries, Sprains and Strains, Sciatica, Stress and Tension Fibromyalgia, Depression and Anxiety, Colds and Flu, Insomnia, Headaches, Chronic Injuries, Psycho-Emotional balancing, and much more. Seitai Shinpo is a very powerful treatment for addressing not only a wide range of physical ailments, but also it also works to affect the psychological and spiritual disconnections that are keeping you from living the happy, healthy, life you truly desire.
